Girls Basketball: Jurgenson, Swenson pace D-B to victory

DAWSON -- Kelsey Jurgenson's double-double and Kelly Swenson's game-high 16 points fueled Dawson-Boyd to collect a 60-38 Camden North Conference win over Kerhoven-Murdock-Sunburg Monday in girls basketball.

The Blackjacks (9-6, 10-9) had the lead from the beginning and overcame a poor shooting night from the field (18-for-59) by making 21-of-27 free-throw attempts. KMS (7-6, 8-10) was only 6 for 12 from the line.

Jurgenson finished with 15 points and 11 rebounds and Kendra Lindblad collected 10 more points for Dawson-Boyd.

Sarah Carlson with 16 points was the lone Fighting Saint to score in double figures.

Karlee Ilgen scored 23 points and grabbed 10 rebounds to lead the Mustangs, who led 41-22 at halftime.

Anna Lisa Asmus and Emily Kubesh added 12 points apiece and Nicole Horstman chipped in 10. Lynsey Runke tossed in nine points.

Brittany Nissen topped BOLD with 19 points. Brittany Dahlk chipped in 12 points and nabbed nine rebounds while Brenna Holwerda supplied 11 points and eight rebounds and Molly Herdina got nine points and triggered 10 assists.
