Girls Basketball: KMS falls to defending Class A champ Minneota

KERKHOVEN — Taylor Reiss put down 29 points and pulled in 12 rebounds to help unbeaten and top-ranked Minneota upend Kerkhoven-Murdock-Sunburg 70-32 late Tuesday afternoon.

The Vikings, last year’s Class A state champion, improved to 13-0 in the Camden Conference and 19-0 overall. Minneota hasn’t lost since Jan. 15, 2013, a winning streak that now stands at 36.

Maddi Strandberg paced the Fighting Saints (2-9, 5-11) with 13 points and 7 rebounds. Kalli Forsell added 9 points and Katie Wilts 6 rebounds and 3 assists.

Emily Stienessen added 17 points for Minneota, which led 42-15 at halftime.
