Girls Basketball: MACCRAY avenges loss to KMS, 63-41

CLARA CITY -- MACCRAY sank 7-of-11 three-pointers en route to topping Kerkhoven-Murdock-Sunburg 63-41 in Camden North Conference girls basketball action Thursday.

KMS held a 15-9 lead early in the first half, but the Wolverines (6-7, 8-10) went on an 11-0 run and never gave the lead back.

The win avenged a 46-44 loss to KMS on Dec. 23.

Annie Winter made five of the team's treys and led the way with 18 points. Alicia Koenen, who made the other two 3-pointers, finished with 11 points. Kailee Epema chipped in 10 points.

Demi Young scored 11 points for KMS (7-7, 8-11). Nikki Pedersen had eight rebounds.

Renville County West went on a 6-0 run late to grab a 26-25 lead, but conference-front runner Lakeview (12-0, 13-4) climbed back on top later to stay unbeaten in the conference.

RCW (5-8, 7-11) was paced by Kelsey Brink's eight points and seven rebounds.

Kristen Lee sank five 3-pointers and finished with a game-high 24 points to spark the Blackjacks (10-6, 11-9), who pulled away from a tie with four minutes remaining.

Kelly Swenson added 13 points and Kelsey Jurgenson had eight points, four assists and four steals for Dawson-Boyd.

Briana Wubben had a game-high 27 points for CMCS (1-12, 4-14). She also had nine rebounds and six steals.
