Girls Basketball: MACCRAY surge holds off CMCS

PRINSBURG -- MACCRAY scored the last four points of the game to tip Central Minnesota Christian 64-59 on Thursday in Camden North girls basketball.

CMCS was down by one, 60-59, with 25 seconds left and at the free-throw line with a chance to tie. The attempt missed and MACCRAY got the ball.

A flagrant foul was called on a Bluejay, both free throws were made and then a basket for the final five-point margin.

Jenna Tebben led MACCRAY with 16 points and six rebounds. Abbey Thissen added 11 points and Alicia Koenen 10.

Briana Wubben's double-double of 20 points and 10 rebounds paced CMCS. Mattea Wieberdink put in 13 points, Greta Evink 10 and Erin Erickson pulled in 12 rebounds.

The Fighting Saints (6-5, 6-9) shot only 22 percent from the field, but they cashed 20 of 25 free throws. Demi Young was 12-for-13 from the charity stripe and finished with 16 points. Sarah Carlson led KMS with 18 points.

Megan Erickson had 14 points, Holly Huisman followed with 10 and Kelsey Brink grabbed 12 rebounds to pace RCW's (5-5, 6-8) attack.
