Girls basketball roundup: Blackjacks move on in Section 3A

MONTEVIDEO — No. 3-seed Dawson-Boyd erased a small halftime deficit and took down No. 6-seed Lakeview 65-57 on Saturday in the Section 3A-North quarterfinals.

The Blackjacks will face No. 2-seed Canby in the semifinals on Tuesday at Southwest Minnesota State in Marshall.

Justine Lee’s 27 points led the Blackjacks, and Katarina Kuhlmann added 22 points on six 3-pointers.

Sadie Zaiser added 9 points with a team-high 12 rebounds.

The No. 2-seed Lancers rolled to a 10-point halftime lead and the Saints were unable to close the gap.

Katie Wilts led the Saints with 12 points and Kalli Forsell finished with 11. Wilts also had 8 rebounds and 4 assists.
