HECTOR — Michelle Melsha recorded a big-time double-double, with 14 points and 19 rebounds, but her efforts weren’t enough in Buffalo Lake-Hector-Stewart’s 40-33 loss to Gibbon-Fairfax-Winthrop on Monday in a Tomahawk Conference game.

Melsha hit 5 of 12 from the field and had 4 offensive rebounds and 15 of the Mustangs’ 32 defensive boards.

Erika Zanoth and Mara Olinger both scored 6 points, and Carley Klabunde added 5 points and 7 rebounds for the Mustangs, who fell to 0-6 overall and 0-5 in the Tomahawk Conference.

BOLD, now 6-1 overall, plays Lester Prairie/Holy Trinity for the title at 7:30 p.m. today in Comfrey.

BOLD led by just five points at halftime but opened up the offense in the second half and cruised.
