Girls basketball roundup: Mankato West tips Cards

MANKATO — Only five Mankato West players scored points but Cara Christiansen and Lexi Schoper combined for 39 in a 53-43 win over Willmar on Saturday.
Christianson scored 21 points and Schoper added 18 for the Scarlets.
Willmar out-rebounded the Scarlets (39-26) and both teams shot roughly the same from the field. But the Scarlets hit 21 of 23 free throws compared to the Cardinals’ 14 of 23 foul shooting.
Heather Horning led the Cardinals with 10 points and she had 6 rebounds.
Jordan Martins scored 9 points and had 5 rebounds, and Anne Dunham had a team-high 7 boards.
