Hutchinson pulled away from the Wildcats in the second half, racking up 43 points in a Wright County Conference win Friday in New London.

New London-Spicer, which entered the game ranked No. 7 in Class AA, fell to 9-4 in the WCC and 17-5 overall.

The Wildcats play three road games next week: at Howard Lake-Waverly on Tuesday; at Morris/Chokio-Alberta on Thursday; and at Litchfield on Friday.

Against Hutch, the Wildcats sent the Tigers to the free throw line 47 times, surrendering 33 free points.

NLS’ Taylor Thunstedt finished with 32 points, 4 assists and 3 steals, and Megan Thorson had 9 points and a team-high 10 rebounds.

Freetly added 10 rebounds, 7 assists and 3 steals with Aundrea DuFrane chipping in 6 steals and 4 assists.

Hannah Ricard netted 9 points and Cyra Carlson pulled down 6 rebounds to lead Benson.
