The No. 1 team in Class AAA is out to claim a fourth straight conference championship. The Otters last lost a CLC match on Jan 4, 2011, at Sartell. They finished 17-1 that season and have gone unbeaten each of the last two years, when they were 59-3 overall.

The Cardinals, hurt by turnovers, could get nothing done all game against the Otters, who don’t relax on defense.

“Credit their defense, they were outstanding,” said Willmar head coach Dustin Carlson. “They’re physical and they play great help defense. They make you pick up your dribble, then you’re in trap and you’re in trouble. They’re a tough team when they are able to run the floor after playing good defense.”

The Cardinals’ Courtney Magnuson scored 8 points and grabbed 8 rebounds and Kalley Fosso finished with 8 points.
