Girls Basketball: Schwendemann's late free throws lifts Monte

MONTEVIDEO -- Beka Schwendemann's two free throws with 20 seconds left iced a 42-40 victory for Montevideo against Minnewaska in West Central South girls basketball Thursday.

The Thunder Hawks (5-5, 7-7) trailed 24-21 at halftime.

Schwendemann finished with 17 points to pace Montevideo. Brooke Tastad had 11 points.

Allie Ostrander had 13 points and Sarah Roering added 12 points and eight rebounds for the Lakers (3-7, 5-11)
