KERKHOVEN — BOLD junior guard Carly Sigurdson finished the first half with 17 points, three short of reaching the thousand-point milestone.

With 14:30 showing on the second-half clock, Sigurdson made a layup and was fouled. She then drained the shot from the stripe for 1,000 career points.

Sigurdson, who needed 20 points to reach 1,000, finished with 26 points as the Warriors (11-3) outran Kerkhoven-Murdock-Sunburg 75-58 in the non-conference meeting.

Fighting Saints senior center Ali Clark also scored 26 points. The visitors led from the start and cruised to the locker room with a 42-30 halftime lead.

“They’re guards are really quick and they push the ball,” observed KMS coach Brady DeBaere. “The 75 points shows they were beating us up-and-down the court.”

Supporting Sigurdson’s output were backcourt mates senior guard Taylor Ebnet with 14 points and junior guard Baylie Kubesh with 10. Senior forward Maggie Nagel put in 15 points.

It was BOLD’s fourth straight win while KMS fell to 8-3. Courtney Olson added 6 points, 6 rebounds and 5 steals for KMS.
