Girls Golf: Waska advances

BENSON -- Minnewaska had the top four individuals en route to winning the Section 3AA-Northeast meet Thursday at the Benson Golf Club by 35 shots to advance to the section final.

Alexis Guggisberg won medalist honors with a 2-over 74 and was followed by Brianna Janu at 75, Jenna Janu at 83 and Ellen Stensrud at 85.

Lauren Dietz was fifth at 87 to pace second-place New London-Spicer, which had three other golfers -- Ellary Sweep, Kelsey Johnson and Jessica Johnson -- qualify for the section final next Friday at Eagle Creek Golf Course in Willmar.

Erica Moritz of Yellow Medicine East finished 10th to also advance to the section final.
