The loss halted Willmar's six-game winning streak.

Shots on goal were near even -- 22 for Alexandria and 20 by Willmar.

Iverson scored from the crease moments after a faceoff in the low circle to goalie Baylie Young's left.

Iverson, with an assist to Heather Hverda, charged the net with Iverson punching the puck to the far pipe.

Lindsey Lien got the shutout in the Alexandria net, making a number of glove saves.

Both teams had good chances, but the goalies were equal to the task.

The visiting Cardinals went to 5-0 in the CLC while Willmar is now 2-2 in league games and 6-3 overall.

Willmar is at Little Falls on Thursday to play the Brainerd/Little Falls Flying Warriors in another CLC game.
