WILLMAR — Tatum Peterson and Alexie Portz each scored twice and the St. Cloud Icebreakers trounced Willmar 7-1 on Tuesday at the Cardinal Arena.


The Icebreakers posted 3 goals in each of the first two periods, pounding the net with 33 shots on goal over the course of the game.

The Cardinals managed 19 shots on St. Cloud goalie Allie Rosenkrans, but didn’t score until the third period when Shelby Schneider put one in at 15:12 with assists from Kierra Miller and Alex Sobieck.

Willmar remains winless at 0-4 overall and 0-1 in the Central Lakes Conference.

They next play Tuesday at Sartell/Sauk Rapids.
