Girls hockey: LDC collects road win

LE SUEUR — Litchfield/Dassel-Cokato fell behind in the first eight seconds of the game but the Dragons controlled the game from that point, getting two goals apiece from Teegan Wyffels and Kennedy Sommerfeld to ease past St. Peter/Le Sueur-Henderson/Tri-City United 7-2 on Tuesday.
After SP’s Ali Plieseis scored almost off the opening faceoff, LDC’s Wyffels scored two unassisted goals and Sommerfeld scored once for a 3-1 lead.
Sarah Koivisto and Sommerfeld increased the lead with second-period goals and the Dragons’ Lauren Knisley and Bobbie Jo Benda scored in the third to wrap up the win.
