Girls hockey roundup: Johnston’s goal ends Willmar slide
LESUEUR — Annie Johnston’s goal with a 1:31 left in the third period broke a 2-2 tie and sent the Willmar Cardinals to a 3-2 victory on Friday over LeSueur-Henderson/St. Peter.
Johnston’s second goal of the game helped end a seven-game losing streak.
Linemates Shelby and Riley Schneider aided on the game-winner at 15:29.
The Cardinals poured 55 shots on the Bulldogs’ Veronica Sinell, who was outstanding with 52 saves.
