Girls Hockey: Sandberg, Johnston star in Willmar's 1-0 win on road

ISANTI -- Madison Sandberg stopped 29 shots and Annie Johnston scored the game's only goal on Saturday as Willmar kept Cambridge-Isanti/Mora/Pine City winless, 1-0.

Johnston's second period goal at 3:04 came on an assist from Samantha Block.

The Bluejackets outshot the Cardinals 29-19. Sandberg made 15 saves in the second period alone.

During their eight-game losing streak, the Bluejackets have struggled offensively scoring just two goals in the last five games.

Willmar (0-2, 5-2) will go for its first Central Lakes Conference win when it hosts CLC rival Fergus Falls on Tuesday.
