WILLMAR -- The Willmar Cardinals cranked up the offense and pelted the Long Prairie-Grey Eagle/Wadena-Deer Creek cage with 53 shots on Friday at the Cardinal Arena.

Seven different skaters accounted for the Willmar goals in the 7-0 Section 6A victory.

"The girls were up and down the ice moving and shooting the puck well, something that was lacking the last few games, so it was good to see that," said Willmar coach Jason Mayer.

Baylie Young stopped 15 shots for the shut out.

Shelby Schneider, Becca Freese, Annie Johnston, Brittany Serbus, Paige Davis, Samantha Block and Miranda Roelofs were the goalscorers. Johnson logged 3 assists and Lauren Sing two.

Willmar is at Sartell on Tuesday.
