The Cardinals managed just eight shots on goal, but Willmar goalie Baylie Young turned in a 49-save performance.

"We weren't able to get the puck in the net, and had a couple of shots hit the pipe," said Willmar assistant coach Lee Wierschem, filling in for Chad Akerson, who was ill.

The Icebreakers (8-1, 12-5) scored a goal in each period.
