Girls Hockey: Willmar blanked by Icebreakers

WILLMAR -- Four goals in the first period was more than enough for the St. Cloud Icebreakers Tuesday as they went on to blank Willmar 7-0 in a Central Lakes Conference girls hockey game.

The Icebreakers (4-3-1, 8-6-3) netted two goals in a span of 22 seconds early in the first period and added two more goals midway through the period to take control.

St. Cloud outshot Willmar 20-8 in the opening period and 9-3 in the second period. St. Cloud scored twice in the second period and 26 seconds into the third period.

The Cardinals (1-8, 4-13) were 0-for-2 on powerplay opportunities.
