Girls Soccer: Fergus Falls turns back Willmar, 3-1

FERGUS FALLS -- Despite 19 saves from Chelsey Wierschem and three defensive saves from Hannah Murphy, Willmar fell 3-1 to Fergus Falls Tuesday in a Central Lakes Conference match.

Fergus Falls scored 6:51 into the game when Bailey Young tied it up with a blast from about 25 yards out after receiving a pass from Courtney Jacobson. Young placed the ball just inside the left post with just under four minutes remaining in the first half.

The Cardinals got shut out in the second half while the Otters netted two more goals to take control.

Willmar is at Brainerd on Thursday for another Central Lakes Conference match.
