Girls Soccer: Mankato West burst buries Cardinals 6-1

MANKATO -- Sophomore striker Sarah Buryska scored twice in the first 32 minutes for a 5-0 halftime lead and Mankato West went on to beat its Section 2AA rival Willmar 6-1 on Saturday.

After a new defensive line held the Scarlets scoreless for the game's first 15 minutes, the host team broke loose for three goals in three minutes.

Alexia Becerra scored for Willmar -- off a corner kick by Elise Duininck. Goalie Jordan Martins had 8 saves in the Willmar goal.

Willmar's last home game of the regular season is Tuesday versus Sauk Rapids.
