Girls tennis: Benson tops Parkers Prairie

SAUK CENTRE -- Maggie Buyck won two of her three matches and Benson defeated Parkers Prairie at a quadrangular meet at Sauk Centre on Monday.

The doubles team of Megan Vergin and Kendra Dingmann also came away with two victories in their three matches. Kelsey Rajewsky was also part of two winning doubles teams.

The Braves play next at the New London-Spicer triangular against NLS and Becker at 9 a.m. today in New London.

Pine City Invite

Litchfield 2-Singles player Lauren Knisley finished 2-1 and won the consolation championship at the Pine City Invitational on Monday.

Kalley Spreiter, the Dragons' 1-Singles player, won a match, as did the 1-Doubles team Krista Miller and Kennedy Sommerfeld and the 2-Singles team Emily Smith and Alexa Besens.

The Dragons play next against Holy Family at 4 p.m. today in Litchfield.
