BENSON — The Benson girls tennis team dropped just three sets to take down Morris/Chokio-Alberta 6-1 on Thursday in a West Central Conference match at the Benson High School courts.

Benson’s Susan Zniewski subbed in for regular 1-singles player Maggie Buyck, who is out with a medical condition, and paced the Braves’ effort with a 6-1, 6-2 win over MCA’s Abbie Olson.

Raquel Curriel, Kellie Enderson and Katie Samuelson also won singled points, and the doubles teams of Kelsey Rajewsky and Kendra Dingmann and Melanie Reese and Olivia Vergin won picked up the Braves’ other points.

MCA’s 3-doubles team of Annie Brandt and Jessica Burks scored the Tigers’ point.

Benson 1-1 in the conference and 6-5 overall, plays at Melrose on Tuesday.

The Tigers, 3-6 overall, plays in the Marshall quadrangular on Saturday.

Montevideo won at 4-singles and 3-doubles but had a couple of three-set matches go against them and the Thunder Hawks fell to Sauk Centre on Thursday.

Nikki Erickson picked up a straight-set win at 3-singles and the doubles team of Avery Koosmann and Natasha Smith scored the T-Hawks’ other point at 3-doubles.

The T-Hawks play at the Marshall quadrangular on Saturday.

Lisa Dobbelaere highlighted three sweeps in singles for NLS with a 6-1, 6-1 win at No. 1, while Reiley Ness and Megan Holme won a three-set dual at 2-doubles.
