It’s the second straight win for Willmar after the Cardinals endured a rough stretch to start out the month.

Willmar’s new 2-doubles duo of Amelia Amon and Claire Schmitz and 3-doubles tandem of Erica Ellingson and Kaylee Chester debuted with straight-set wins. The Cardinals also won all four singles matches in straight sets.

“The girls really had fun and that’s what this game is all about,” said Willmar coach Jim Anderson. “The singles side played well and took care of business, and the newly-paired 2- and 3-doubles teams communicated well, supported each other and played steady to come out on top.”

Cayle Hovland at No. 1, Hannah Hansen at No. 2, Bailey Hovland at No. 3 and Bergen Vollan at No. 4 were victorious in singles for Willmar, which hosts Alexandria today at 4:30 p.m.
