Golf: Jacobson four back entering MGA final day
GOLDEN VALLEY -- Willmar’s Andy Jacobson again played a steady, even-par round on Tuesday and remains four shots off the lead after round two of the 111th Minnesota Golf Association Amateur Championship at the Golden Valley Golf and Country Club.
Jacobson, playing out of Eagle Creek Golf Course, duplicated his first-round 72 on Tuesday and sits alone in fourth place at 144.
First-round leader Erik Christopherson shot 75 on Tuesday to fall into third place at one-under 143. Troy Johnson shot 71 on Tuesday after opening with a 69 on Monday and his four-under 140 leads second-place Jesse Bull by two strokes.
Litchfield’s Tyler Koivisto made a surge up the leaderboard with a one-under 71 on Tuesday. He opened with a 76 on Monday that left him tied for 46th. He enters today’s final round at three-over 147 and is tied for eighth.
Sixty three players from the 156-golfer field made the cut at 156. The third and final round begins today at 7:50 a.m.
