Gordon H. Hillers

KERKHOVEN -- Gordon Henry Hillers, 77, of Kerkhoven, died Thursday at Rice Memorial Hospital in Willmar after suffering with multiple myeloma.
The service will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Bunde Christian Reformed Church, rural Clara City. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday at Tri-County Funeral Home in Prinsburg and for one hour prior to the service Monday at the church.
He was born Nov. 17, 1930, in Roseland Township, Kandiyohi County, to Henry and Frieda (Wubben) Hillers. The family moved to Woods Township near Kerkhoven when he was 9, and he attended country school through the eighth grade. He then attended the Morris Ag School and later farmed with his father. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict.
He married Esther Brouwer on Feb. 22, 1956, in Roseland. They lived and farmed in Louriston Township near Kerkhoven. He retired from farming in 1995.
He was a member of Bunde Christian Reformed Church, where he served as an elder and a deacon.
He is survived by his wife; four children: Susan (and Tim) Bohlsen of Clara City, David Hillers (and Justine Meyer) of Clara City, Douglas (and Tammy) Hillers of Kerkhoven and Linda (and Paul) Rolfes of Roseland; nine grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; a great-granddaughter; brother: Stanley (and Karen) Hillers of Kerkhoven; and two sisters: Emma Bonnema of Raymond and Lyla (and Willis) Hoogeveen of Willmar.
He was preceded in death by two brothers.
