Gordon W. Lane Dec. 8, 1934 - Dec. 29, 2008
Gordon W. Lane, age 74, of Willmar died unexpectedly Monday at his home.
A joint service for Wilbur and his father, Wilbur R. "Bill" Lane, will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Willmar. Burial will be in Cloverleaf Memorial Park Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Peterson Brothers Funeral Home and for one hour prior to the service at church.
He was born Dec. 8, 1934, on the family farm near Raymond to Wilbur and Eleanor (Boettcher) Lane. He attended rural schools.
He was married June 12, 1953, to Ellen Koenen at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Clara City. They lived and farmed in the Raymond area for several years and he was employed at Broman Oil. He worked there for 20 years before retiring in 1994. That year they moved to Willmar and wintered in Apache Junction, Ariz., until 2003. He was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church since Trinty Lutheran closed.
He is survived by his wife; children: Larry (and Shelly) Lane of Litchfield, Bob (and Vicki) Lane of Raymond and Barbara (and Greg) Reiner of Minneapolis; eight grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and three brothers: Luverne (and special friend Shirley Labelle) of Apache Junction, Ariz., Gary (and Lola) Lane of Willmar and Bruce Lane of Willmar.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
