Government, most businesses closed on Thursday for New Year's holiday
Most businesses and all government offices and banks in the area will be closed Thursday on New Year's Day.

The U.S. Postal Service will not be delivering mail on the holiday. The Kandiyohi County Sanitary Landfill will be closed.
The Kandi Mall will be open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on New Year's Day and "big box" retailers will be open as well.
On Friday, it will be back to business as usual for banks, government offices and most retail-ers. For other businesses, it would be advisable to call ahead before stopping by, as some of-fices may still be closed for the holiday.
