Blue is charged with two felony counts of second-degree assault, for causing substantial bodily harm and using a dangerous weapon; and for fifth degree assault against a second person.

The victim suffered three knife wounds in the back and was treated overnight at Granite Falls Hospital. His injuries required stitches.

District Judge Paul Nelson set unconditional bail at $75,000 and conditional bail at $30,000. Blue was ordered to have no contact with the victim, to stay away from this father's home and abstain from alcohol use.

According to the complaint, Levi Blue, his girlfriend and their son were at their father's home along Minnesota Highway 67 on the Upper Sioux reservation when the incident occurred sometime after 1 a.m. Sunday.

Erich Blue was allegedly intoxicated when laid down in the bed with Levi Blue's girlfriend while Levi was in the bathroom. The brothers began arguing when Levi Blue returned, according to the complaint.

The defendant allegedly went to the kitchen and grabbed a knife with an approximate five-inch serrated blade. He allegedly broke the bedroom door off its hinges to pursue his brother, who was holding the door. The victim felt the stabbing in his back as he held the door

Their father shoved the defendant down and Levi fled outside with Erich in pursuit. Erich Blue is also accused of having struck his brother's girlfriend.

Levi Blue went to a neighbor's house for assistance. Police were summoned shortly before 8 a.m.

When interviewed by a police officer with the Upper Sioux Community, the defendant said he remembered arguing with his brother but not an incident with a knife.
