Granite Falls man injured when semi, school bus collide near Renville

RENVILLE -- A Granite Falls man was injured Wednesday evening when a semi and a school bus collided on U.S. Highway 212 east of Renville.

The Minnesota State Patrol reported that David R. Littlecreek-Wilbanks, 50, suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to RC Hospital in Olivia. He was driving a 2013 Freightliner eastbound and turning north on Renville County Road 21 about 6 p.m. Wednesday when the two vehicles collided. The westbound Thomas school bus was driven by Dennis M. Isaackson, 56, of Cottonwood. He was not injured.

According to the initial report from State Patrol, there were no passengers in either vehicle.

Both drivers were wearing seat belts, and alcohol was not a factor. The road was icy at the time.

The Renville Police Department and the Renville County Sheriff's Office assisted at the scene, along with Renville Ambulance and Renville Fire Department.
