CHICAGO -- Gunnar A. Anderson, 93, of Chicago, formerly of Spicer died Friday in Chicago.

The service will be Saturday in Chicago. Private burial will be in Spicer. Memorials to North Park Covenant Church in Chicago are preferred.

He was born Dec. 6, 1914, to Alfred and Elvira (Dahlen) Anderson. He was a decorated World War II veteran and former POW.

He is survived by his wife Lucille (Griffin) Anderson; children: Cathy Anderson of Willmar, James (and Katie) Anderson of Pittsburgh and Craig (and Terri) Anderson of Brooten; siblings: Arthur (and Janet) Anderson and Paul Anderson of California; stepchildren: Kevin, Terry and Randall Griffin; six step-grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his wife: Helen (Garrott) Anderson.
