"Kelsey Jacobson threw a great (vault) and we're really happy to have someone going to state again," said Willmar coach Larry Selchow.

He added that her vault was an early one and held up against the rest of the field.

Eden Prairie won the team title with a 147.325. Host Bloomington Jefferson was second with a 145.075 and the Cardinals posted a 138.675

"The judges score completely different that what we're used to," Selchow said of metro-area judges compared to the ones from the St. Cloud area. "It happened last year and we were more prepared for it this year."

Natalia Marifield of Bloomington Jefferson won the all-around title, plus titles for vault and balance beam.

Abby Weiler took eighth on the beam with an 8.625, eighth on the vault with a 9.225 and ninth in the all-around with a 35.025. Annalise Bratt took eighth on the uneven bars with an 8.775.
