Gymnastics: Weiler leads Willmar past BKMS

BENSON -- Willmar captured the top three spots in the all-around and each individual event to beat Benson/KMS 137.55-126.925 in non-conference gymnastics action Tuesday.

Abbey Weiler took first place in the all-around with a 35.975, winning bars with an 8.675 and the balance beam with a 9.1. She tied for first with teammate Kelsey Jacobson on the floor exercise with a 9.15. Willmar's Ashley Delp won the vault with a 9.5.

Laura Hoffman led BKMS with a fourth-place finish in all-around competition, posting a 32.725. Tasha Wiebold of BKMS was fifth in all-around with a 32.05.

Benson/KMS is coached by Amber (Shackman) DeBoer, a former WillmarCardinal gymnast.

That concludes the regular season for Willmar. The section tournament will begin on Feb. 20 in New London.
