Gymnastics: Willmar foiled by Sartell

SARTELL -- Kaitlyn Lindblad took first on beam, but otherwise there were few highlights for Willmar as the Sartell Sabres crunched the Cardinals 138.225-134.775 in Central Lakes Conference gymnastics on Thursday.

"We were just off tonight," said Willmar coach Larry Selchow.

Lindblad scored 9.175 to take first. The balance beam was Willmar's best event by far with Ashley Delp third at 8.675 and Kelsey Jacobson fourth at 8.5.

Lindblad also had the high all-around score for the visitors at 34.5.

Willmar (1-1, 1-2) was five points off its season high of 139.75 on Dec. 10 in a loss at Willmar to St. Cloud Tech/Cathedral.

Sartell (3-0, 4-1) scored 139.975 winning at Brainerd Dec. 10.

Alanna Dietz, Allison Bratberg and Haley Stahl finished 1-2-3, respectively, in all-around to ignite the Wildcats. The trio placed in the top three in each event but the floor, which teammate Hillary Brink won.

Stahl won vault and beam while Bratberg won bars.
