Gymnastics: Willmar trips up BKMS

WILLMAR -- Kelsey Jacobson made her last meet in the Kennedy gymnasium memorable with four dynamic performances as the Willmar Cardinals outpointed Benson/Kerkhoven-Murdock-Sunburg 129.975-119.50 on Tuesday in front of a Parents Night crowd.

With her teammates cheering her on, the team's lone senior competing on varsity won three events and all-around.

Jacobson, who has been a starter since ninth grade, scored 9.3 in vault, 8.325 on bars and 9.15 on floor.

Junior teammate Abbey Weiler won beam (8.4) and tied on floor with Jacobson awarded first based on the superior judge.

Jacobson scored 35.150 all-around and Weiler 34.775.

Dani Hanson and Megan Osterbauer of Benson/KMS finished third and fourth all-around.
