H-R female nominee: Beka Schwendemann of Montevideo
VOLLEYBALL: Schwendemann was named All-Area twice in volleyball while starting and lettering three times. She delivered 279 kills, 50 ace serves, 33 ace blocks and 272 digs as a senior as the Thunder Hawks finished as section runnerup. In her career, Schwendemann finished with 560 kills, 90 ace serves, 118 ace blocks and 594 digs as Montevideo went 56-23.
BASKETBALL: Schwendemann became a 1,000-point scorer her senior year, finishing with 1,125 in her career. She was four-year starter, letterwinner and all-conference player who played all five positions in her career. Also an All-Area selection, Schwendemann averaged 12.3 points, 5.4 rebounds and 2.7 assists her senior year. She also had 545 rebounds, 208 assists and 139 steals in her career.
TRACK: Lettering five years in track, Schwendemann competed in the long jump and triple jump and became the Thunder Hawks' leading point scorer this season. Her personal best in the high jump was 15-1 and in the triple jump was 32-9.
