H-R male nominee: Tom Grages of Montevideo
FOOTBALL: Grages earned three letters in football, while starting two seasons at wide receiver and cornerback. The Thunder Hawks went 18-9 in his three seasons. He caught 24 passes for 435 yards and eight touchdowns as a senior and had 46 receptions for 768 yards and 12 touchdowns in his career. On defense, Grages made 32 tackles and intercepted three passes his senior year and amassed 44 tackles and six interceptions in his career.
BASKETBALL: Grages lettered two years as a guard and proved to be a valuable reserve who played exceptional defense. He averaged 2.8 points, 1.5 rebounds and 1.0 steals per games off the bench to help the Thunder Hawks go 16-10. For his career, he notched 92 points, 41 rebounds, 28 assists and 34 steals.
TRACK AND FIELD: Grages, a two-year letterwinner, earned all-West Central South Conference honors this spring in the 110 high hurdles, finishing second in a time of 17.29. He was third in the 300 hurdles in 42.98 and placed fifth in the long jump with a leap of 19-1.
