'Habitat day for woodies' scheduled Saturday at Prairie Woods

SPICER -- The annual "habitat day for woodies'' is being held from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday at the Prairie Woods Environmental Learning Center, rural Spicer.

All are invited to come and build a wood duck nesting box, bring the kids along to help, get information on preferred methods for mounting nest boxes and view wood duck nesting video.

The event is sponsored by the Prairie Pothole Chapter of the Minnesota Waterfowl Association.

A $10 fee for materials includes cedar box and predator guard, mounting materials and poles, a $50 value. Tools will be provided.
