Habitat for Humanity launches electronic recycling program

WILLMAR -- Habitat for Humanity of West Central Minnesota, in partnership with Vintage Tech recyclers, is now accepting and recycling electronics at no charge.

A special collection day will be held 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. March 24 at Habitat's new location, 619 Benson Ave. SW in Willmar, which is next to Family Dollar.

Items can also be dropped off during regular business hours, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday - Thursday.

Although there is no charge for the service, donations are welcome to off-set costs.

Electronic items that will be accepted include TVs, computers, telephones, printers, radios, microwaves, DVD/VHS players and cameras, as well as small household goods like toaster ovens, mixers and coffee makers.

Items that will not be accepted include curling irons, household batteries and white goods, like refrigerators, dishwashers and stoves.
