HERMAN -- Harold William McRoberts, 94, of Morris, formerly of Herman, died Thursday at Stevens Community Medical Center in Morris.

The service will be at 11:30 a.m. Monday at United Methodist Church in Herman. Burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery in Herman. Military rites will be provided by the Herman American Legion.

Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service Monday at the church. Pedersen Funeral Home of Morris is handling arrangements.

He was born Aug. 30, 1914, in Herman to William and Minnie (Podratz) McRoberts. He grew up and attended school in Herman and then attended the West Central School of Agriculture in Morris.

He married Norma Ritzschke on April 28, 1938, in Herman. He worked at the Herman Creamery and the Herman Bank. He was drafted in 1945 and spent his military career in Texas. After his discharge, they moved to Donnelly and he went to work at the Farmers and Merchants Bank in Donnelly, retiring in 1978. They moved to Morris in 2000.

He was a member of the United Methodist Church in Herman and the Odd Fellow Lodge. He was the Donnelly City Clerk for 20 years, organized the Donnelly Commercial Club and served on the Rod and Gun Club Board, Community Chest, FHA and the West Central Community Action Board.

He is survived by his daughter: Ruth (and Roger) Cooper of Barnesville; daughter-in-law: Beverly McRoberts of Wahpeton, N.D.; five grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; one brother: Walter (and Carol) McRoberts of Herman; and one sister: Fern (and Martin) Pasche of Hoffman.

He was preceded in death by his wife on Oct. 5, 2008; and his son: Dwaine McRoberts.
