APPLETON -- Harry Adolph Schlieman, 80, of Appleton, died Tuesday at Appleton Area Health Services-Nursing Home.
The service will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Shible Township, Swift County, with burial in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be on from 5 to 7 p.m. today at Zniewski Funeral Home-Vaala Chapel in Appleton and for one hour prior to the services at the church.
He was born June 24, 1928, in Swift County to Adolph and Amanda (Wente) Schlieman. He attended Fairfield country school through the eighth grade.
He married Evelyn Gaulke on March 12, 1947, in Shible Township. They farmed until 1969 when they moved into Appleton. He then worked for Howard Kavanagh for a few years before starting his own business, Harry's Radiator and Repair, until retiring in 1993.
He is survived by four children: Connie (and Don) Tofte of Benson, Linda (and George) Huseby of Cambridge, Kenneth Schlieman of Appleton, and Randy (and Sharlene) Schlieman of Helena, Mont.; eight grandchildren; 14 great-granchildren; siblings: Delores (and Victor) Storm of Tintah, Ardith (and David) Hills of Brainerd and Elroy (and Mary) Schlieman of Raymond.
He was preceded in death by his wife in 2003; a son: Douglas Schlieman; a daughter: Bonnie Kohlman; one grandson; one sister; and one brother.
