Hazardous driving conditions in west central, southwest Minnesota

WILLMAR -- The Minnesota Department of Transportation advises motorists to use extreme caution in west central and southwest Minnesota due to heavy and blowing snow and poor visibility.

Travel conditions are poor in Chippewa, Kandiyohi, Lac qui Parle, Lincoln, Lyon, Meeker, McLeod, Murray, Pipestone, Redwood, Renville, and Yellow Medicine counties.

No highway closures are expected at this time, MnDOT said in a release at 8:15 this morning.

Snowplow operators are out, but motorists should watch for scattered slippery areas and compacted snow on roadways in sheltered areas.
