Hazardous weather outlook issued today for parts of west central Minnesota

The National Weather Service has issued a hazardous weather outlook today for portions of central and southern Minnesota and west central Wisconsin.

West central Minnesota counties in the outlook area include: Chippewa, Kandiyohi, Lac qui Parle, Meeker, McLeod, Pope, Redwood, Renville, Stearns, Stevens, Swift, Wright and Yellow Medicine.

Scattered thunderstorms will move across much of the regions through this afternoon and into the evening. Some of the thunderstorms could produce small hail and gusty winds.

There is a slight chance these thunderstorms could become sever over south central and southeast Minnesota this evening, close to the frontal boundary that is situated over Iowa. Damaging winds and large hail would be the main threats.
