NEW LONDON -- Hazel Berdella Framstad, 97, of New London, died Monday at the GlenOaks Care Center in New London.
The service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Peace Lutheran Church in New London. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery in New London. Memorials are preferred
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at the church and for one hour prior to the service. Arrangements with the Johnson Funeral Home in New London.
She was born Feb. 1, 1912, near Hannaford, N.D., to Henry and Bertha (Horvei) Haugen. She grew up on the family farm and attended Goplin country grade school and graduated from Hannaford High School in 1931. She moved to Willmar where she worked in retail sales and as a buyer for Habichts Department Store.
She married Julian Framstad on Oct. 2, 1965, in Willmar. They lived on the Framstad family farm in Roseville Township, Kandiyohi County, and she worked at the Big Store in New London. She moved into town in 1973. She retired in 1974 but continued to work part time. She was a member of Peace Lutheran Church where she was active in Peace Lutheran Women, Tuesday Bible Study, Christian Service Day and quilting.
She is survived by her children: Sandra (and John) Mogren of Tucson, Ariz., Judy (and Jim) Thompson of New London, James (and Phyllis) Framstad of Annandale; nine grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 1971 and six siblings.
