BENSON -- Hazel Clarice Fahl, 81, of Benson, died Friday at Swift County Benson Hospital.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Trinity Lutheran Church, Benson. Burial will be in the Benson City Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Trinity Lutheran Church and will continue for one hour prior to the service at the church. Arrangements are with Zniewski Funeral Home, Benson.
She was born on Jan. 6, 1927, in Hancock to Edward and Corella (Olson) Hanson. She grew up in Hancock and Evansville, where she attended pre-school and grade school. She graduated from Benson High School in 1945.
On June 14, 1947, she married Gerald Fahl in Benson. She lived and farmed in the Benson area all her life. She babysat, waitressed, candled eggs, did bluegrass striping, worked as a nurse's aide and worked at Fingerhut in Benson. She was a member of the ladies aide at Trinity Lutheran Church and was active in Girl Scouts.
She is survived by her husband; her children: Gary (and Mary) Fahl and Jonathan (and Sherri) Fahl all of Benson, Cherrelyn McCormick of Overland Park, Kan., Jennifer (and Don) Olstad of Wasilla, Ala., and Tammy (and Scott) McGarvey of Edina; 13 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; four sisters: Mae Ankeney of Capistrano, Calif., Delores Moline of Andover, Arlene Brower of Portland, Ore. and JoAnn (and Gary) McCormick-Britton of Panama City, Fla.
She was preceded in death by an infant son: Tommy Fahl; two brothers; and one sister.
