NEW LONDON -- Hazel Angela Kluegel, 104, of New London and formerly of Lamberton, died Thursday at the Glen Oaks Care Center in New London.
The service will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Our Lady of the Lakes Catholic Church in Spicer. Burial will be at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery in Lamberton.
Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service at the church. Arrangements are with the Green Lake Funeral Home in Spicer.
She was born on May 25, 1904, in Iona to Henry and MaryAnn (Brady) Aurit. She received her education in Iona and then attended Mankato State University for her teacher training. After graduation, she moved to Lamberton where she taught first grade.
On Nov. 26, 1925, she married Detmer Kluegel. He trained her in acrobatics and they performed for the next five years at regional fairs and celebrations. They owned and operated Kluegel's Furniture Store and Funeral Home in Lamberton. In 1965, they retired and moved to Green Lake in Spicer.
She is survived by her three sons: Spencer (and Ingrid) Kluegel of Idaho, Jim (and Carol) Kluegel of Spicer and George (and Ruth) Kluegel of Phoenix; eight grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 1975, one brother and five sisters.
