BENSON -- Hazel Roselia Josephine Onken-Anderson, 90, of Benson, died Thursday at Homestead Place North in Benson.

The service will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Trinity Lutheran Church in Benson. Burial will be in the Benson City Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 3 to 6 p.m. Sunday at Zniewski Funeral Home in Benson and one hour prior to the service Monday at the church.

She was born March 28, 1918, at Sebeka to Rennie and Emma (Hanson) Slaughter. When she was a small child, the family moved to southern Minnesota and in 1936 moved to Donnelly.

She married Willie J. Onken on June 1, 1936, at Sisseton, S.D. They lived in southern Minnesota for a couple of years and then in Farwell, Morris and Benson. She worked at Sandy's Café, Dick's Café, and was a laundress at the high school. They moved into Parkview Manor in Benson. Willie died July 5, 1975, and she continued to live in Benson.

She married Woodrow Anderson on July 1, 1986, in Benson. He died Aug. 1, 1986.

She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and active in the Ladies Aid and circle.

She is survived by her daughter: Darlene (and Jack) Wagner of Benson; one grandson; three great-grandchildren; eight stepchildren; three brothers: Henry Slaughter of Benson, Palmer (and Marcia) Slaughter of Benson, and Willard (and Blanche) Slaughter of Darwin; and two sisters: Florence (and Larry) Yates of Renton, Wash., and Amy Holm of Benson.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, three brothers and three sisters.
