Head-on crash with dump truck near Menahga, kills one Thursday

MENAHGA, Minn. - One person was killed when a car and dump truck collided head-on Thursday night near here.

Authorities have not yet released the name of the deceased driver of a 2004 Volkswagen sedan involved in the crash.

Dustin J. Berttunen, 28, of Menahga, Minn., was the driver of the 1996 KW dump truck, according to the Minnesota State Patrol.

The accident happened about 5 p.m. on U.S. Highway 71, about a mile south of Menahga.

Berttunen was treated and released for injuries, the patrol said.
