Heat advisory in effect for west central Minnesota

A heat advisory is in effect throughout southern and central Minnesota from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. today.

Heat warnings have been issued from the Twin Cities metropolitan area west to the South Dakota border.

Highs in Willmar are projected to be at 90 to 95 today, but with high humidity, it could feel like 100 to 105 degrees, according to the National Weather Service.

The Hennepin County Medical Center recommends drinking plenty of fluids, staying in an air conditioned building, and avoiding heavy exercise during the hottest part of the day.
